Greetings podcast fam!

My name is Dustin and I’m the creator and host of The Higher Ed Geek Podcast, where we explore the intersections of passions, strengths, and purpose. We also share in the things we all geek out about, from sports, to video games, movies, to sustainability hacks.

There’s no shame in being super into whatever you’re into, and we want to highlight how our interests positively contribute to our lives. We can build community, foster new skills, and maybe even find a career through our hobbies.

We post episodes weekly throughout the year with a wide range of guests. I really try to foster diverse voices on my show, highlighting different backgrounds, and making sure anyone seeing my guest list sees someone like them. Recent guests include Twitch streamers, higher ed professionals, geek fashion entrepreneurs, and much more. I look forward to showcasing all the cool new people to come in the future!

I also blog regularly on my site (higheredgeek.com) as well as on The Niche Movement, and on the ed tech company Presence’s blog.

A little more about me, I currently work at 2U, an ed tech company that partners with universities to create amazing digital education programs. I went to University of Delaware for undergrad majoring in history and minoring in leadership. I then attended Rutgers University in New Jersey to get my master’s degree in college student affairs, beginning my path in higher ed. I was born in Maine, grew up in Delaware, and now live in Baltimore, Maryland with my wife, Jenn, and our dog Chelsea.

Please feel free to connect with me on Twitter or anywhere else you find me. I always love to hear from folks and share in some awesome geek outs!
